Tors son with the giantess Järnsaxa. Saved his father when ifted the leg of the deceased Hrugner from his fathers neck: "Last came Magne, Tors son with Järnsaxa. He was three days old then. Hastily he lifted up Hrugners leg from Tor and said: - How unlycke, father, that I came so late. I could have illed this giant with my fist if I had met him. Tor rose and welcomed his son, and said that he one day would became a great man. And you shall have the horse Gullfaxe th formely belonged to Hrungner. But then Odin said that Tor would do great injustice if such a horse where given to a boy begat with a witch and not to his father (Odin)."
A small parish south of Viborg on Jylland (Denmark). It is known (in historical aspects) for its findings of a large chamber grave under a large soil hill, Bjerringhoj. The graves was with a high probabiblity made for a powerfull man, probably someone in the circles around king Harald Blåtand. The grave contained a large number of artefacts, among them a table service, large axe and wax candle was found.
The ornament style on the big axe has thus been given the name 'Mammen', from the location of the findings. The findings where dug up in 1868, thus the digging was not of modern standards in regards preservation and documentations. Most of the textiles found consists of red-bronish wool fabric weaved in a three shafted twill style (and yes, I am not sure about the exact translation to english). Many of the fragments have embroidery in multicoloured wool. Silk and tray slings of wool, gold and silver has also been found. Other artifacts are 'gles tunnskaftsvävnad' in wool. A lot of other fragments of textiles and types of textiles where also found.
The grave main importance comes from the fact tha i can be rather precisely dated to around 970-71 and thus enables us to place other findings in the right time.
Malahatt
Old Metre. It's unregular and considered magical.
Brother to Tor. He is mentioned in Harbardsljod but is unknown otherwise.
Born by the giantess Angerboda with Loke as father. Had two brothers (or what you may call them) in Fnerisulven and Hel. Midgårdsormen was thrown in to the ocean by Odin. Here Midgårdsormen encircles the earth and bites in his own tail. Midgårdsormen is killed in Ragnarök. Midgårsormen can be translated as 'The snake of Midgård'.
MImer was a wise giant and guardian of Mimerswell and the foot of the world tree Ygdrasil. Odin sacrificed one of his eyes here in order to gain his wisdom.
Son of Tor. He will, together with his younger brother Magne, inherit Tors hammers after Ragnarök and live in Baldersrike.
