Y. was the father of Bröt anund and Skilfinga king in old Uppsala around the 6th century. Snorre Sturlaussson tells, "King Eysteins son, which later became king over the Svea empire, was named Yngvar". "he was a great warrior, often participanting in war campaings, as the Svea empire had been plundered by the Danes and the people from the east. King Yngvar made peace with the Danish people and started war on the eastern people. One summer when he was out on a war mission, burning and plundering on a place called Stein the estonians came in great numbers and there was fighting. But as there where many estonians the Swedish people had to flee King Yngvar was killed. He was burried a the shore, and this is in Adalsyssla".
