Shortly after releasing the compilation album Metall Maschinen Musik Die Krupps released this song with a very similar name; it's merely a translation of the German title for the compilation. This confused a lot of people, including a friend of mine who bought the wrong thing. The name is very well chosen for this song though, since it's just what it is: thrash metal dist guitar riffs and machines together; thrash metal band Accuser helped out with the guitars.

Obviously, there are several different versions of this song, some more synthetic and some more thrash metal and some mixing the two. It's quite interesting to hear the Accuser vocalist Frank Thoms growl out Dörper's lyrics in the typical thrash metal manner, along with thundering mechanical bassdrums emulating thrash metal drums. It makes a very powerful mix, even if it sounds kind of silly. The EBM bassline is the foundation for all the remixes, regardless of metal contents. But who really needs seven remixes of the same song?

Some time after this Die Krupps went a bit too far with the guitars though, and started to sound like a bad rip-off of a metal band. Unfortunately.
