This is a bit noisier than
Pretty Hate Machine, perhaps more like
Ministry or the likes. The synthpop references
are fewer and more obscure, and the songs are generally more rocky. There are some
twisted dist guitar samples sprinkled everywhere, along with lots of pure noise
samples. I almost get the feeling that these were originally pretty straightforward
'alternative' rock songs which Trent "remixed" into this more 'industrial' sounding
mixture.
The last two "hidden" tracks are an
Adam Ant cover and a Pigface collaboration, the latter
of which was also released under the name of 1000 Homo DJ:s, a project involving Al
Jourgensen of Ministry as well as Trent.
