This second single from Statemachine is more to my liking that the
first.
The main track is remixed in a fashion somewhat similar to the single remix of
Depeche Mode's
In Your Room,
but a bit louder and noisier ('rockier'). A rather good version.
The other version is a completely remade orchestral version, and bit slower and
with somewhat more whiney vocals. The chords have also been altered in the chorus,
and sound a bit more hopeful. Then, when the beats and bassline kick in, it turns
into a rather different version than the original. Good and different, although I
prefer the
album version to either of these new versions.
'Comprehensive' has also been made-over a bit, unfortunately with the best
part taken out (the more melodic vocals). It's got a bit more of a hard edge than
the original (not too hard, mind you) with slightly disted synths and bouncier
beats.
'Relaxation Oscillator' is a new tune, rather bouncy and nice with soft
spoken female vocals in the verse and mixed sung vocals in the chorus. It's not
too exceptional, but a rather good B-side. Actually, this is the first Statemachine
release I've paid any money for; not a complete waste. If you still don't have the
album, go get it. It's worth it.
