Jag är en Inspector Guardian
Efter att ha gjort ett personlighetstest på www.davideck.com/links/k-disc.html
har jag kommit fram till att jag är en Inspector Guardian, iStJ. Vad
det betyder står redogjort för i detalj nedan. En välkänd iStJ är Ior i
Nalle Puh böckerna.

The Inspector Guardians are not only concrete in speech and cooperative in getting things done, they
are also directive and attentive in their social interactions. Though not always open about directing
others, still they are not the least bit reluctant in this regard.
About ten percent of the general population, Inspectors are characterized by decisiveness in practical
affairs, are the guardians of time-honored institutions, and, if only one adjective could be selected,
"dependable" would best describe this type. Whether at home or at work, iStJs are extraordinarily
reliable and dependable, particularly when it comes to inspecting the people and things in their field of
vision. Inspectors can be counted on to scrutinize the products and accounts of the institutions they
serve-the company's books, the farmer's crops, the manufacturer's goods-but also to examine the
attitudes and actions of those around them. Inspectors are earnest and thorough in their inspecting; all
must go under their magnifying glass, so that no deviation from the official standard is left undetected. It is
their duty to spot and to report any and all discrepancies, though they prefer to work behind the scenes
and not confront the deviators. Indeed, iStJs are rather quiet and serious types, making their inspections
without flourish or fanfare, and, therefore, the dedication they bring to their work can go unnoticed and
unappreciated.
Inspectors have a distaste for and distrust of fanciness in speech, dress, or place. Their words tend to be
simple and "down home," not showy or high-flown; their clothes are often practical and conservative
rather than of the latest style or extravagant; and their home and work environments are usually neat,
orderly, and functional, rather than up-to-date or luxurious. In their choice of personal property (cars,
furnishings, jewelry, and so on) price and durability are of primary concern, comfort or appearance given
small consideration. "Classics," antiques, and heirlooms are especially prized, having achieved a certain
time-honored status -- iStJs prefer the old-fashioned to the newfangled every time. Even on vacation,
"no nonsense" seems the term for this type, who tend not to be attracted by exotic foods, beverages, or
locales.

ISTJ - Pragmatist
ISTJs often have a very firm, solid
figure, especially males. They keep their
feet rooted to the ground giving the
impression that they are sturdy and
secure. Their heads are firmly fixed
squarely to their shoulders and are
practically immovable. Their necks
appear to be inflexible so when they turn
their head their shoulders usually
follow. Their facial expressions are
somewhat unemotional and show great
concentration.
Male ISTJs often wear a moustache. If
they do not have one then there
probably is a logical reason for it,
as in general they all agree that a
moustache is a good idea. Their clothes are always clean,
ironed and tidy. They follow strict styles, never
being too flashy or extravagant. It is as if military
uniforms were designed specifically for ISTJs. They take
great care of their appearance and may criticise people
who do not.
ISTJs walk with their hands down by their sides. Their
arms hardly seem to move at all and it can appear
that their elbows have no joints. Their gait is usually
even and rhythmical however from time to time ISTJs
can turn sharply and unexpectedly, changing their course
without warning.
ISTJs find it quite easy to interact with strangers and
considering that they are introverts can feel quite
close to someone even after a relatively short amount of
contact. They often have a large compendium of
jokes and anecdotes. Males often use this arsenal to
charm females, usually behaving very gallantly,
successfully playing role of the gentleman. They are
often the life and soul of the party. They enjoy singing
with little more than a guitar for accompaniment and
often in a romantic style.
ISTJs try always to be punctual and appreciate this
quality in others very much. They pay great attention to
facts, figures and technical information. They try to
work everything out in depth and down to the last detail.
ISTJs are very realistic people. They are not supporters
of unproved ideas or theories and will hesitate in
undertaking uncertain projects. They believe that
everything should be prepared carefully and accurately.
When in conversation, ISTJs often utilise common
expressions and sayings and may sometimes be
excessively instructive and edifying. This can be
annoying to others. ISTJs like posters, placards, bills and
the other printed propaganda. When they in informal
surroundings they are often inclined to talk about
subjects related to philosophy or morality. They may show
an interest in religion, mysticism and predictions.
ISTJs are always ready to share their knowledge with
others and readily give people advice based on their
own experiences.
As children ISTJs are very often obedient, docile,
responsible and respectful. For this reason they are often
used by adults as examples to other children. This will
often lead then to take positions of responsibility
while still at school. ISTJs adapt well to positions of
power and are very dutiful. When in power they show
good administrative and organisation skills. They demand
the exact fulfilment of their orders and are
uncompromising in these matters. They usually maintain
strong discipline inside organisations. They like
and respect authority and always obey subordination.
ISTJs like to collect reference material, encyclopaedias
and dictionaries. They will never admit that they do
not know something within the field of their activity.
When they buy new appliances they always read the
manual before using them even if the operations are
obvious. At home they regimented in an almost military
fashion. Every item has it's own specific place and they
look after and take care of all their things. ISTJs
can become very irritated and angry if somebody changes
or interrupts this specific order or treats their
possessions improperly.
They try to create comfort and order around them. They
are good artisans and know how to make minor
repairs. They generally like to work with their hands.
They do not require much variety in their food and can
eat the same thing for several days without any problem
as long as it's of a high quality. ISTJs are
unconfident in relationships. They are aware of this
inability and as a result are very suspicious of other
people, especially ones that do not interact openly with
them. This may often cause an excessive paranoia.

ISTJs are often called inspectors. They have a keen sense of right and
wrong, especially in their area of
interest and/or responsibility. They are noted for devotion to duty.
Punctuality is a watchword of the ISTJ.
The secretary, clerk, or businessman by whom others 'set their clocks' is
likely to be an ISTJ. As do
other Introverted Thinkers, ISTJs often give the initial impression of
being aloof and perhaps somewhat
cold. Effusive expression of emotional warmth is not something that ISTJs
do without considerable
energy loss. ISTJs are most at home with "just the facts, Ma'am." They
seem to perform at highest
efficiency when employing a step-by-step approach. Once a new procedure
has proven itself (i.e., has
been shown "to work"), the ISTJ can be depended upon to carry it through
(even at the expense of their
own health). ISTJs are easily frustrated by the inconsistencies of others,
especially when the second
parties don't keep their commitments. But they usually keep their feelings
to themselves unless they are
asked. And when asked, they don't mince words. Truth wins out over tact.
The grim determination of the
ISTJ vindicates itself in officiation of sports events, judiciary
functions, or an other situation which
requires making tough calls and sticking to them. His SJ orientation draws
the ISTJ into the service of
established institutions. Home, social clubs, government, schools, the
military, churches -- these are the
bastions of the SJ. "We've always done it this way" is often reason enough
for many ISTJs. Threats to
time-honored traditions or established organizations (e.g., a "run" on the
bank) are the undoing of SJs,
and are to be fought at all costs.

ISTJs learn best by experiencing, doing and practising. For them, the
theory (and the links that can be

ISTJs are most comfortable learning when:
engrossed in short 'here and now' activities such as business
games, competitive teamwork tasks,
role-playing exercises
able to stand back from events and listen/observe, e.g. observing a
group at work, taking a back
seat in a meeting
allowed to think before acting, assimilate before commenting, to
prepare in advance
carrying out painstaking research
given the opportunity to review what they have learnt
asked to produce carefully considered analyses and reports
finding themselves in structured situations with a clear
purpose
presented with ideas and concepts that emphasise rationality or
logic, and are well argued
when concentrating on, or being shown techniques for doing things
with obvious practical
advantages e.g. saving time, drawing up action plans, dealing with
awkward people
given the chance to try out and practise techniques with
coaching/feedback from a credible
expert
exposed to a model they can copy, e.g. a respected boss, a
demonstration from someone with a
proven track record
given immediate opportunities to implement what they have learned
ISTJ's are least comfortable when:
the learning is abstract and theoretical and or practical benefit
expected to act without clear guidelines or opportunities for
planning or practice there is no
practice or clear guidelines
there are political, managerial or personal obstacles to
implementation
asked to do something without warning, e.g. to produce an instant
reaction
obliged to participate in situations with a strong emotional or
interpersonal content
involved in unstructured activities where there is ambiguity and
uncertainty
However, engaging in learning activities that contain some of the above is
often of greater benefit in
terms of their overall development, as discussed earlier.
Now you know your learning style, you can choose the type of learning that
suits you, or adapt learning
material or courses you are attending to incorporate some of the ways you
will learn effectively.
Andra tester jag har gjort
Hur tillförlitliga sådana här tester är kan ju diskuteras, men jag tycker
att de är kul att pyssla med. Många av testen nedan används för att
marknadsföra olika "intelligenshöjande" produkter, jag har inte testat
produkterna (och har ingen avsikt att göra det heller), och har inget att

På cech.cesnet.cz/IQ/IQ-test-e.html hittade jag ett IQ test och fick 132. Efter en vecka kom jag tillbaka till den här sidan och gjorde om testet, resultat: IQ=144. Ytterligare två månader senare 156. Sedan kan du ju tolka det precis som du vill. :-)
Ett annat test ligger på www.brain.com/iq/5mintest/. Det är inriktat på att tolka korta texter. Texterna är på engelska och jag tyckte att de var ganska kluriga att förstå. Jag fick 122 i IQ på det testet.
